[VIDEO] Ice Fishing for a Lake of the Woods Lake Trout

Lake of the Woods is definitely one of those places I fish often. The main draw for me in the winter are the lake trout. They fight harder than most fish and they have amazing colors. They don’t grow to be the same sizes as those in northern Manitoba but when it’s only a two hour drive away from home, I’m not complaining.

They definitely aren’t the easiest fish to catch. I’ve had many outings that didn’t work out and the times I do have success, I have only caught one for the whole day. I still think they’re pretty fun to do. Not all outings need to have action packed fishing to be enjoyable.
